In Update 14, a new mechanic that was introduced to the Warframe community was Kubrows. Kubrows are companions that will assist you in battle, but a lot of hard work is required to obtain one.
step 1: defeat the jackal
The Jackal is an assassination target on Fossa, Venus. You must defeat him to obtain the "Howl of the Kubrow" quest. The quest will allow you to begin searching for a Kubrow egg.
step 2: the codex
After the assassination target is defeated, you must go to the codex. This will allow you to activate the quest to obtain the Kubrow.
At the Codex, click the quest button.
After the quest button is selected in the codex, select the "Howl of the Kubrow" quest. "Howl of the Kubrow" is the name of the quest that allows you to get the Kubrow.
step 3: play survival on Elara, Jupiter
To get the incubator segment, you must go to Elara, Jupiter. Elara is a survival mission, and to obtain the incubator segment you have to survive for at least five minutes.
step 4: install the incubator segment
After you have obtained the segment, you must then install the segment. To do so, go to the back of your ship, and install the segment by pressing the letter key E in the top-left corner. In the screen-shot below, you can see that I already have mine installed:
step 5: hunt kubrow dens
After obtaining the incubator segment, the Lotus will prompt you to go to E Prime, Earth. On E Prime, there will be kubrow dens, some of them hard to find.
Each den is guarded by wild kubrow, and can also spawn wild kubrow.
Dens are usually in sets of two.
Destroying a den will cause the den to drop loot, including one Kubrow egg. The only issue, though, is that it is rare for a den to drop a Kubrow egg.
Players will usually have to keep re-doing the mission, E Prime, until they finally obtain a Kubrow egg. So, do not get discouraged if you do not get an egg on your first try; you can always try again! When you do actually find an egg, though, it will look like the egg in the picture for step 4, except it will be on the ground, of course.
step 6: obtain a power core
Once you obtain a Kubrow egg, it should be in your Incubator already. To allow you egg to start incubating, as one might put it, you need a power core. There are two ways to obtain one; You can either buy one from the market for 35 Platinum:
Or you can build one:
To build one, though, it will take you 38,772 nanospores, 249 control modules,1 argon crystal, 100,000 credits to build, and eight hours to finish building. nano spores and control modules can be found in any mission on Neptune. As for argon crystals, they can be found anywhere in the Orokin Void.
step 7: wait for the egg to hatch
After obtaining the power core, the breeding of the egg should have automatically begun. It will take the egg three days to hatch. When it does hatch, it ill look like a baby version of the Kubrow; like a puppy.
step 8: wait for kubrow to mature
Before you can use your new companion, you must wait for him or her to mature. The incubator does not have an exact time, but it generally takes two to three days.
step 9: enjoy your kubrow!
Now that your Kubrow has matured, you can now use it in missions! You will have to do one mission, though, to obtain the collar for your Kubrow. The Lotus will guide you through the process of obtaining the collar. After you do the mission that the Lotus advises you to do, you will then be able to use your Kubrow at your disposal!
